GM NIGERIA SET TO 'SPOIL' CUSTOMERS
In its bid to reposition the brand and make it more affordable to the Nigerian Motoring Public, GM Nigeria Limited has rolled out some incentives for its customers.
The incentives which were announced by the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Rotimi Famakinwa at the just concluded Lagos Motor Show included free services (Labour and Materials), three year warranty or 100,000 kilometres (whichever comes first) and four years finance option at 0-25 percent deposit of the actual amount of any of the Isuzu models to be purchased.
According to the Managing Director, the new package was put together through a special arrangement with some banks. To this end, the automobile company introduced all their range in more body applications at the fair grounds to broaden their range and offer customers a wide range to choose from.
Some of the Isuzu models which were on display at the fair ground include the Isuzu Rhino light truck which comes in many body applications such as water tanker Steel van, Steel Van, dropsides, and refrigerated van.
Others include the Isuzu D-max pickup and Isuzu Tiger models which come in single and double cabin 2WD and 4WD. These pickups are not just rugged, they are also pleasure rides for every purpose.
According to the GM boss, “the Isuzu Tiger Single and Double Cabin D-Max over the years are seen as rough and tough pickup vans capable of carrying luggage and heavy loads from one destination to the other despite the nature of the roads- either smooth or rough. He further added that “for Isuzu vehicles, the nature of the roads do not matter; hence they are regarded as your performance partner”.
Continuing, he stated that “the new model of Isuzu Tiger Pickup is a combination of class, elegance and adventure. They are both a power tool in the users' hand and a pleasure ride anytime.
Comfort in the models of the D-Max (4WD) he said rivals that of luxury Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs). Reclining seats, centre consoles, lot of storage spaces, air conditioning system, etc make road trip even more enjoyable.
GM knows that convenience is the key to making the hours you spend behind the wheels of your Isuzu D-Max worthwhile. So in order to reduce driving fatigue, the metres and gauges of the unitized instrument panel are carefully designed for easy glance, while column-mounted combination switches are at your finger tips to operate all instruments while the combination switches are at your fingertips to operate tights, wipers and windshield washer.
Storage is another strong point. The glove box locks to keep valuable safe for other items, there's a utility box on the dash, cup holders and a variety of handy centre consoles.
Options like power windows and door locks take cab convenience to a higher level. Tilt steering- available on both standard and deluxe cabs adjusts to suit any driver for the perfect driving position. The extra quiet cabs of the Isuzu Pickups are also the ideal place too enjoy your favourite music. In the same 4WD Isuzu D-Max there are four door mounted speakers and the optional AM/FM stereo radio cassette player create a memorable audio experience for drivers and passengers alike.
Carefully matched to maximise vehicle performance, the three engines available for the series are designed for high output, excellent fuel economy and lasting reliability. When heavy-hauling power is the top priority there are two direct-injection diesels to choose from. At 3.0 litres, the turbocharged 4JB1-T has power to spare for the toughest job, while the 2.5 litres 4JA1 is an extremely versatile performer. Both these engines tale full advantage of direct-injection technology, which significantly boosts fuel economy, reduces emissions and extends engine service life up to 30 percent.
The gasoline powerplant for the Isuzu Tiger D-Max is 2.4 (single and double cabin) litres. Widely known for reliable fuel efficient performance, this engine features multi-point fuel injection and SOUC (Single Overhead Camshaft) design.
